In this guide, you will learn how to:

  • Create a notice group (who receives alerts)
  • Set up energy alerts (based on power or consumption)
  • Receive email notifications automatically
  • (Optional) Trigger automation like MQTT or webhook

Step 1: Create a Notice Group

💡 Recommended for users with tiered electricity pricing

Step 4: Set Up Real-Time Power / Current Alerts

You can trigger alerts based on real-time data (power or current).

4.1 Create a Trigger Rule

  1. Go to Auto Sending → Add Rule
  2. Select:
    • Meter
    • Phase (if three-phase meter)
  3. Choose trigger type:
    • Power (W)
    • Current (A)

Trigger setting

4.2 Set Threshold

  • Define the threshold value
  • Choose condition:
    • Greater than
    • Less than

Threshold

4.3 Select Trigger Type

  • Level Trigger Triggered continuously when condition is met
  • Edge Trigger Triggered only when crossing the threshold

Trigger type

4.4 Set Minimum Interval

To prevent excessive alerts:

  • Level trigger: minimum 30 minutes
  • Edge trigger: minimum 1 minute

4.5 Select Action (Email Alert)

  1. Choose Notice Group
  2. Enable email notification

Email alert

Step 5: Enable Device Offline Alert

IAMMETER can notify you when the device goes offline.

  • Triggered when no data is uploaded for more than 10 minutes
  • Sends alert email automatically

Offline alert

Step 6: Test Your Setup

To make sure everything works:

  • Turn on/off a load to trigger power change
  • Check your email inbox
  • Review logs in IAMMETER cloud

Step 7: (Optional) Advanced Automation

7.1 Webhook Integration

Send alert data to external systems:

  • ERP
  • Monitoring systems
  • Custom dashboards

Control devices automatically based on energy data.

Example:

  • If solar export power > threshold
  • → Turn on smart socket
