The virtual meter is not a physical device but rather a service provided by IAMMETER-cloud. Users can upload data from third-party devices to IAMMETER-cloud by calling the API or using IAMMETER's cloud bridge mode (if supported), thereby accessing all services offered by IAMMETER-cloud.
The virtual meter is our latest attempt, and users can use this to integrate other energy monitoring devices (smart meters, inverters) into IAMMETER-cloud.
Apply for the virtual meter from IAMMETER-cloud
Select the data source of the virtual meter.
Inverter-> model->SolaxCloud/Solax-Portal
Input the token and the SN of the inverter.
Solaxcloud offers an API feature for data access, allowing customers to generate a token for API calls—a more secure alternative to using username and password credentials. For further information, please consult the Solaxcloud user manual, or search for "Solaxcloud API" online for direct guidance.
Choose the specific data you wish to retrieve from Solaxcloud/Solax-Portal, each categorized under a different phase of the virtual 3-phase meter:
Phase A: Inverter Information
Includes data on the inverter's power output and total yield (measured in kWh).
Phase B: Grid Information
Provides details about grid power, grid consumption (kWh), and exported energy (kWh). Note: If a Solax meter has not been installed, all values in this category will be zero.
Phase C: Battery Information
This phase covers information related to the battery. If no battery is installed, all values under this phase will be zero.
Click 'Save' to finalize the setup. This action will create a virtual meter that retrieves data from Solaxcloud at 5-minute intervals. You can find and manage this virtual meter under the "Virtual Meter" section on the relevant page.
